On Sunday, the driver of a van (33) crashed into the car of a 29-year-old in the area of Ebreichsdorf in the state of Baden (Lower Austria). The driver was seriously injured and two children were also in the car.
A 33-year-old driver of a van from the Baden district drove in the area of Ebreichsdorf on Sunday afternoon with a blood alcohol level of more than 1.4 per mille. According to police reports, he wanted to cross the Mitterndorfer Straße/B60 intersection straight ahead. He may have overlooked the car of a 29-year-old man from the Bruck an der Leitha district, who was coming from the right.
Seriously injured in hospital
“Despite the 29-year-old slamming on the brakes and honking the horn, a collision could not be avoided,” the Lower Austria State Police Directorate said on Monday. The 29-year-old was seriously injured and was transported by emergency services to the Baden State Hospital. Three other occupants of the car, aged three, six and 29, were uninjured and the man behind the wheel of the van was also uninjured.
Traveling with more than 1.4 per mille
An alcohol test on the 33-year-old showed a value of more than 1.4 per mille. His driver’s license was temporarily confiscated. After the investigation is completed, he will be reported to the public prosecutor’s office in Wiener Neustadt and to the district administration.
