Increasing winds – wildfires are raging in Los Angeles: buildings have burned down

The Cal Fire agency reported that more than 1,100 personnel, 114 fire trucks and seven helicopters battled the blazing blazes. According to media reports, some buildings burned down. There were initially no injuries.

As of Sunday evening (Monday morning CEST), an area totaling almost 60 square kilometers was affected in Los Angeles County and Ventura County to the west, fire officials revealed. Only two percent of the fire was under control. The cause of the fire was still unclear.

Conditions unfavorable
Authorities closed access to Pyramid Lake, the direction the flames were moving, as a precaution. Higher temperatures and increased winds in the afternoon were forecast for Monday.
