Children of Russian soldiers killed in Ukraine have been sent on holiday to North Korean holiday camps. Kremlin boss Vladimir Putin announced this with visible pride.
It was a “real act of care and friendship,” the Russian president emphasized on Wednesday during his state visit to Pyongyang. He thanked “our Korean friends and especially Comrade Kim Jong Un for organizing holiday camps for children of participants killed during special military operations.”
Russia describes the offensive in Ukraine as a “special military operation”. According to the Russian head of state, the children were sent to the Sondowon holiday camp on North Korea’s Pacific coast.

Months earlier, the governor of Russia’s Primorye region in the Russian Far East had reminded students of similar practices in Soviet times: “When we were your age, we went there, there were good camps in Korea;
