Shortly before a snap general election, the mood in Britain has become heated. Activists have chosen an unusual form of protest to express their displeasure with the work of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak: they have invaded his private property – one of them defecating in the Conservative politician’s pond.
The group ‘Youth Demand’ claimed responsibility for the protest on Tuesday. In videos shared on the short message platform He then drops his pants and makes his statement against the Prime Minister’s “shit show”, as the organization announced.
In addition to a video showing the action more clearly, the group also shared a censored clip of the incident on social media:
Activists were arrested
Police arrived on the scene within a minute of the men entering the building. The four suspects are between 20 and 52 years old and come from different cities. They will be detained pending investigations, police said.
The organization ‘Youth Demand’ is committed, among other things, to climate protection, against arms deliveries to Israel and against the granting of new oil and gas permits by the British government.
It is not the first time Sunak’s private estate has been targeted by activists. In the summer of 2023, Greenpeace covered his house with ‘petrol black’ sheets to protest the granting of oil and gas permits.
Election debacle feared for Conservative Party
The parliament in Great Britain is elected on July 4. Sunak had announced an early election after his Conservative Party’s defeat in local elections at the end of May. In the polls, the Conservative Tories are far behind the Labor Party.
