American elections
The US president has responded to the criticism by admitting that he is “not as good a debate as he used to be”, but has urged Americans to compare him with the alternative: Donald Trump.
The President of the United States, Joe Bidenadmitted at a mass rally in North Carolina this Friday that ““He doesn’t debate as well as he used to.”But defended his ability to rule and urged Americans to compare him to the alternative: former President Donald Trump.
The Democrat tried silencing the criticism of those calling for his resignation for his poor performance in the debate against Trump, during a large-scale event in North Carolina.
“I know I’m not a young man, it’s clear (…) I don’t walk as easily as I used to. I don’t speak as fluently. I don’t debate as well as I used to. But this is what I know. I know how I have to tell the truth. I know how to do this job,” the president said to applause.
Moreover, the 81-year-old President described Donald Trump as “a danger” to American democracy.
“We’re going to protect and defend our democracy. That’s what’s at stake in this election: our freedom, our democracy,” Biden argued in favor of his candidacy, comparing it to Trump’s.
Trump, party
In turn, Donald Trump has taken the opportunity to attack his rival after being declared the winner of the presidential debate. The former president has described himself as “the most incompetent president” in American history.
“The question every voter should ask themselves today is not whether Joe Biden can survive a 90-minute debate, but whether the United States can survive four more years of corrupt Joe Biden in the White House,” the Republican says jokingly.
