Saturday afternoon, a serious traffic accident between four cars took place in Vienna-Donaustadt. A Polish driver (70) first crashed into two cars in front of him and then into a car from oncoming traffic. Three people were injured.
The 70-year-old was driving out of the city behind two cars on Eßlinger Hauptstrasse around 3 p.m. when, according to police, the lead car braked to turn left. However, the 70-year-old did not maintain a sufficient safety distance and collided first with the two cars in front of him and then with an oncoming car. A car flipped over and landed on its roof.
Huge traffic delays
A total of three passengers were injured in the accident. They were taken to hospital by emergency services after emergency medical treatment. In the meantime, the accident scene was secured and the vehicles were towed away.
The 70-year-old is being prosecuted on suspicion of negligent bodily harm in traffic. The accident caused huge delays in traffic on the Eßlinger Hauptstrasse.
