A 30-year-old from Natternbach filled up with fuel on Sunday afternoon and then got behind the wheel of his car. A big mistake: shortly afterwards he mowed down an approaching 15-year-old boy on his moped. The boy is seriously injured!
The 30-year-old from Natternbach drove his car from Natternbach towards Fronberg on Sunday around 5:30 p.m. According to witnesses, the car drove over the center line in a slight bend to the right and ended up in the oncoming lane where the moped was approaching.
The collision was inevitable and the 15-year-old moped rider from Natternbach was left seriously injured on the ground. The Europa 3 emergency medical helicopter was called from Suben to assist and took the patient to the Wels Clinic. It was not yet known in the evening whether the accident victim’s life was in danger.
Alcohol test confirmed complete intoxication
While the 15-year-old boy was being treated, the police performed a breath test on the driver: an incredible 2.76 per mille! His driver’s license was confiscated on the spot and a report is being filed with the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the district administration.
