Russian UN Ambassador Vasily Nebenzya said on Monday: “We think that imposing endless sanctions on the country is simply unfair and discouraging.” It is necessary to think about how these punitive measures can be changed. Because according to Nebenzya, “things cannot go on like this forever.”
Western states suspect Moscow of transferring technology to Pyongyang, despite sanctions, in exchange for artillery ammunition and missiles that the country uses to wreak destruction in its war of aggression against Ukraine.
Russian precision weapons to North Korea?
In late March, Russia had already used its veto power in the World Security Council in New York to withdraw the mandate of a committee of experts to monitor North Korea for punitive measures. In view of Western arms supplies to Ukraine, the Russian president recently threatened to deliver precision weapons to North Korea.
North Korea, ruled by ruler Kim, is subject to far-reaching UN sanctions and import bans over its nuclear weapons program, which also affect the trade in arms or the transfer of military technologies to the country. During a state visit to Pyongyang, Putin signed a new partnership agreement with Kim, which also provides for mutual aid in the event of war.
New tactical missile tested?
