In the small German town of Weingarten, near Karlsruhe, a woman was stabbed to death on Tuesday evening. The perpetrator initially managed to escape, but the police were able to arrest a suspect on Tuesday morning.
According to investigators, the woman was attacked with a knife and fatally injured in an apartment on Karlstrasse at around 12:40 p.m.
Houses surrounded and searched
As part of the search for the perpetrator, numerous houses near the crime scene were surrounded and searched, and drivers were asked not to pick up hitchhikers.
After hours of searching, including the use of helicopters, a suspect (25) was finally arrested on Tuesday morning.
According to the prosecution, the man is from Montenegro. He and the dead woman therefore knew each other.
