Good news from the hospital: The condition of the four-year-old who fell from a second-floor window in Weyer (Upper Austria) on Monday is stable. According to the Kepler University Hospital in Linz, the boy can soon be transferred to the normal ward.
A terrible accident shocked Monday: in Weyer, a four-year-old boy fell from a second-floor window, fell about nine meters and hit the asphalt – as reported by the “Krone”. According to the police, the accident happened when the boy’s mother (26) was sitting on the toilet.
Fly screen collapsed
The four-year-old and his brother (6) were playing together in the family apartment. The younger man climbed from the bed onto the bedroom windowsill, where he probably leaned against the fly screen in the open window. It gave way and the four-year-old fell from the second floor.
The mother immediately noticed the accident and brought her screaming son to nearby relatives, who called 911. A rescue helicopter flew the four-year-old to Kepler University Hospital in Linz with life-threatening injuries.
No danger to life
And now there is positive news: “There was no longer any danger to life on Monday,” says the hospital. “The boy can probably be transferred to the normal ward on Tuesday or Wednesday.”
