Russia destroys Ukraine ammunition stocks

The evacuation of the chemical plant in Azot begins before the stalking of the Moscow troops

After Ukraine’s appeal to demand weapons from the West as its army was running out of ammunition, Russia attacked one of its remaining reserves on Sunday. Kremlin forces destroyed a stockpile of weapons supplied by the United States and other European countries to the west of the invaded territory, an area so far relatively untouched by the conflict. The Russian Defense Ministry said the Chortkov shelling destroyed a “large warehouse containing anti-tank missile systems, portable air defense systems and howitzers”.

However, the local governor, Volodymyr Trush, pointed out that the “four rockets” fired from the Black Sea “partially” destroyed a military installation and several residential buildings, injuring twenty-two, including two children, who were rescued from the debris. . “Luckily no one died,” Trush sighed. The blast damaged a gas pipeline in the city, 140 kilometers from the border with Romania, and started a fire.

Moscow rammed into other other targets on the final day. According to Russian army spokesman Igor Konashenkov, a Buk-M1 anti-aircraft missile system was destroyed in Barvenkovo (Kharkov), a radar station in Sloviansk (Donetsk) and two batteries of multiple missile systems in Zvanovka (Lugansk) and Zakotnoe (Donetsk). “Rocket troops and artillery hit 248 targets with military equipment from the Kiev armed forces, 21 command posts and 37 firing positions of Ukrainian artillery units,” the official explained, stating that in recent hours, at least 320 Ukrainian fighters were attacked. for life.

On the other hand, the situation in Severodonetsk is “extremely difficult” after the Kremlin destroyed another bridge in an “intense bombardment,” said the region’s governor Sergei Gaidai, assuring that this strategy aims to isolate the city. to leave. A British brigade member was also killed in one of these attacks. The family of Jordan Gatley, who left the army in March and went to Kiev “after careful consideration”, reported that their “hero” had been shot dead.

In this settlement, the epicenter of the confrontation in Donbas, Ukrainian defenses are entrenched in the Azot chemical plant, which “has been heavily bombed for hours”, said Gaidai, for whom “evacuation is still not possible” because although there are doctors are in the hospital and stock up on fuel, water and medicines, “it is impossible for the ambulance to work”.

On the contrary, the Russian version brings a different view. Russian ambassador to the self-proclaimed republic of Lugansk, Rodion Miroshnik, assured that yesterday the departure of the 500 civilians held in the facilities “retained and taken to a safe place by the fighters of the Allied forces.”

Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces gradually manage to stop the Russian advance in other parts of the country. This was stated yesterday by the president, Volodímir Zelensky, whose army is “gradually” liberating settlements in the Kherson region, where Russia planned to hold a “false referendum” on annexing the region.
