Shortly before nine o’clock on Saturday morning, a 15-year-old in the Lend district of Graz raised the alarm: He was alone in the apartment when the smoke detector started beeping. It is possible that a fire started near the electrical socket behind the television in the living room.
Three people suspected of smoke inhalation
The teenager quickly called his mother and asked the neighbors for help. They alerted the emergency services. The 15-year-old and the two neighbors (52 and 24) had to be taken to the hospital later due to suspected smoke inhalation. It is still unclear why the fire broke out. Due to the damage, the apartment is currently uninhabitable.
