Fatal recreational accident Friday in East Tyrol: A 44-year-old downhiller lost control while jumping and fell. The local man was seriously injured and taken to hospital.
The serious accident took place in Lienz. The 44-year-old resident was again driving down the valley on the so-called “Flow Family Trail”. After the rides had always gone smoothly and without accidents, the accident occurred around noon.
Lost balance while jumping
“When he jumped, the man lost his balance through his own fault. He became too heavy forward, was thrown over the handlebars and eventually landed on the ground,” police said.
Broken arm and bruises
The 44-year-old suffered a broken forearm and several bruises all over his body. After initial treatment at the scene of the accident, he was taken by ambulance to Lienz District Hospital.
