Extremely dangerous! A ghost driver (23) stopped on Saturday evening in the right lane on the Westautobahn near Sankt Lorenz, turned off the light and went to sleep on the driver’s seat. The police had trouble waking the drunk 23-year-old.
That could have ended badly: Saturday evening after 22:00 there was a parked and unlit car on the western highway, on a construction site in the municipality of Sankt Lorenz. The reason: a 23-year-old from Amstetten had ‘parked’ there.
The young driver drove the wrong way on the A1. He then stopped in the right lane, turned off the lights and, according to the police, went to sleep in the driver’s seat.
Lenker slept wonderfully
Police received multiple emergency calls reporting the wrong-way driver or the vehicle parked in the middle of the highway. When the patrol arrived, they were met with another unpleasant surprise: it was difficult to wake the 23-year-old in his locked car.
1.6 parts per million
A subsequent alcohol test showed that the man from Amstetten had a blood alcohol level of 1.6 per mille. His driver’s license has been temporarily revoked and a report will follow. The great luck of the drunk 23-year-old and all passing drivers: no accident occurred in this extremely dangerous situation.
