A young alcoholic (18) rammed a cyclist in Bärnbach on Saturday evening. The cyclist had to be flown to hospital by rescue helicopter.
Although drunk, an 18-year-old got behind the wheel of a car in Bärnbach on Saturday. He reversed out of the street and drove onto the L 341, overlooked a 53-year-old cyclist and rammed him. A witness alerted the emergency services and, together with other people, provided first aid.
Florian Daross, paramedic and deputy district rescue commander, said: “The first responders did an excellent job and provided excellent care to the injured until we arrived.”
Driving license revoked
Because the 53-year-old’s injuries were too serious, the rescue helicopter C 12 had to be called. Bad luck for the careless driver: he was reported and also lost his driver’s license.
