The Spanish government will bring a new proposal to the meeting to try to reach closer positions with CEOE and Cepyme. The unions have continued to wait, realizing that the support of employers is necessary to make the short-time work a reality.

The Spanish Ministry of Labour will meet again today with employers and unions (CC. OO. and UGT) to negotiate the shortening of the working day, a meeting at which the government will present a new proposal to try to reach closer positions with the CEOE and the UGT. Cepyme after a tense week in which a tripartite agreement seemed impossible.

The reduction in working hours, included in the government agreement between PSOE and Sumar, aims to achieve this maximum working week of the current 40 hours, to 38.5 hours this year and to 37.5 hours next yearan approach that already has the support of the unions.
