Two young Czechs who drove through the Waldviertel with their broken down car made a big difference. After the police had clamped the car, the men wanted to jump on it. So much so that the bolt then shot out of the engine. This was even filmed.
The alarm was raised by a driver who was driving behind a scrap Czech VW in the Waldviertel – the car couldn’t even stay on the road! The police arrived quickly and were able to stop the car in Scheideldorf near Göpfritz an der Wild in the Zwettl district.
Drive home from a funeral in Slovakia
The moving description of attending grandpa’s funeral in Slovakia and experiencing a technical failure on the way home did not help the two Czechs – an 18-year-old driver and the 19-year-old license plate holder without a driver’s license. The car was too badly damaged. The car showed several serious defects, not only on the chassis or the rusty exhaust, but also in other areas. After the men were unable to pay the fine, the car was immobilized on the spot with a wheel clamp.
Keep going at all costs: boom!
But the two Czechs did not want to accept that and even filmed their violent escape attempt with their mobile phones a little later. They wanted to ‘blow up’ the wheel clamp at high speed, but in doing so they only blew up the car’s engine. The force of the explosion was so strong that even the car’s hood hit the windshield. The loud action was of course noticed by neighbors – the law enforcement officers arrived again and reported the men as free after questioning them.
