Turbulent police operation on Tuesday evening in the Tyrolean Oberland: Officials actually only wanted to check a car with three occupants. However, after the driver’s drug test came back positive and drug residue was discovered in the car, the father of one of the passengers got involved. An arrest and house searches followed!
Shortly after 22:30, the car with the three occupants, which was parked in the parking lot of a supermarket in Rietz (district Imst), was targeted by a police patrol. A driver and vehicle check was carried out.
No driver’s license, drug test positive
The officers initially discovered that the 22-year-old driver did not have a driver’s license. “In addition, a rapid drug test that was performed was positive for cocaine and THC,” the investigators said.
Cocaine residue and drug paraphernalia were subsequently found and seized in the car, which was occupied by two other local residents, aged 21 and 29.
The father of one of the prisoners became violent
Then turbulent scenes unfolded. “During the official act, the father of the 29-year-old prisoner arrived. “The 55-year-old interfered with the official act and attempted to use physical force to prevent a police officer from conducting a search of his second son (26), who owns the vehicle,” the report said.
The father was eventually arrested. The suspect’s resistance left three police officers slightly injured. Eventually, searches were conducted in the apartments of the driver, the car owner and the 21-year-old passenger. “Drugs in the form of cannabis and cocaine were seized.”
The three suspects are reportedly at large. The arrested 55-year-old was still in custody on Wednesday.
