Water provided – Overloaded truck with about 700 pigs stopped

Date:

In Tyrol, another truck with around 700 pigs in a barn was stopped. The Polish van was driving on the federal road near Radfeld (Kufstein district) on Saturday morning because the driver (35) apparently wanted to avoid the checkpoint on the Inntal motorway. The fire brigade came out to provide the thirsty animals with water.

At around 9:00 a.m., officers from Kundl police station noticed a livestock transport truck loaded with exactly 697 piglets driving on the B171 despite the driving ban. “The truck was led to the Radfeld checkpoint, where an inspection was carried out. It was found that the maximum permissible gross weight was exceeded,” the director said.

Water tanks were filled
According to the officials, there was no violation of the Animal Transport Act. During the inspection, the Kramsach fire brigade was asked to fill the drinking water tank for the transported animals.

Continued journey to Italy
After collecting a deposit, the 35-year-old Polish truck driver was able to continue his journey to Italy. Reports to the Kufstein district administration will follow.
