No weapons zone? Two men were not deterred by that on Sunday in front of Innsbruck’s central station. After a failed drug deal, one of them pulled out a machete and threatened a Syrian (25) with it. The suspects were arrested.
The Südtiroler Platz in front of Innsbruck’s main station has been part of a weapons ban zone for years. Not everyone adheres to this, as was evident from a particularly flagrant case on Sunday morning. After a drug deal went wrong, a dangerous threat emerged that had everything!
“Two stateless men, aged 22 and 34, threatened a 25-year-old Syrian, with the 22-year-old pulling out a machete to intimidate the Syrian,” police said.
Suspects arrested
The suspects were subsequently temporarily arrested by a Rapid Intervention Group (SIG) patrol and officers from the train station police station.
Machete, coke and knife seized
The machete, a paper knife and half a gram of cocaine were seized. After the investigations are completed, corresponding reports in outline are made.
