Husband Shot – “How To Kill Husband” – Life For Author

Date:

In the United States, a writer who wrote an essay titled “How to Kill Your Husband” has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of her husband. An Oregon judge announced the verdict on Monday. According to this, 71-year-old Nancy Crampton Brophy could request parole after 25 years.

Crampton Brophy is known for a slew of novels with evocative titles like The Wrong Husband or The Wrong Lover. The essay How to Kill Your Husband is about how a woman can get rid of her husband without being harassed by the courts. It states, among other things, that firearms are “noisy, messy and require some skill”.

Collecting life insurance as motive
But this is exactly how she would have killed her husband. According to prosecutors, she shot the then 63-year-old twice in the heart in June 2018 at the cooking school where he worked as a cook to collect his life insurance policy. She was in financial trouble, and the hundreds of thousands of dollars in insurance should enable her to live a lifestyle that her husband couldn’t afford.

Surveillance cameras showed suspects near the crime scene
Crampton Brophy denied all allegations. Surveillance footage of her near the crime scene showed that she was only looking for inspiration for her books. She bought a missing gun—the murder weapon, according to police—to investigate a novel that was never completed.

She also denied the prosecution’s motive for the crime. She is financially better off with her husband than without him, she testified at the trial. Their financial problems have long since been resolved. Her lawyers have appealed the verdict. In her blog on motives and methods for getting rid of an unwanted husband, Crampton Brophy also wrote that every woman, every man, is capable of it – “if stimulated enough.”
