Former President of the United States, Donald Trump, has disqualified the legislative commission investigating the January 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol, which it has branded a “kangaroo court,” that is, a court that disregards established norms or justice according to the public Washington Times
In a 12 page statement Published in response to the latest public hearing of the aforementioned U.S. House of Representatives Committee, Trump has once again insisted that the 2020 presidential election was “fraudulent.”
The Republican has also criticized Biden’s management, including the “failed withdrawal” from Afghanistan, his “bad policies” on the United States’ southwestern border, which he has described as “not safe,” and has told Democrats blame that they used the commission to distract Americans from the “great pain they are experiencing.”
Monday’s hearing was the second in a series of public events scheduled for this month in which the commission hopes to show Trump may be behind the attack on the U.S. Capitol.
The committee members try to find out whether the former president, knowingly spreading false claims that the presidential election had been rigged, against advice given to him at the time by various campaign advisers and government officials.
The committee consists of a majority of Democratic congressmenthough there are two Republican members—Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger—who are at odds with Trump.
