Leon murder case – This is how the accused father describes the past hours

Date:

It is one of the most sensational cases in German-speaking countries! Little Leon (6), who suffered from an incurable genetic defect, drowned in the Kitzbüheler Ache in the Tyrolean lowlands at the end of August. His father (39) went from being a victim of a robbery to being suspected of murder by the police in the course of the investigation. The three-day trial began today in Innsbruck.

  • On Sunday, August 28, 2022, the little one was found dead on a sandbank. In late February 2023, Leon’s father was arrested – according to investigators, he would be responsible for his son’s death. He has been in custody since then, but strongly denies the accusations.
  • In February 2024, the defense spoke at a press conference about “investigative accidents” and filed a motion to be released from prison – this was denied.
  • In April 2024, a murder charge was filed against Leon’s father. The trial dates are: July 17, July 18, and August 1.
  • At the start of the trial on Wednesday, the suspect pleaded not guilty, but the public prosecutor is convinced of his guilt.
