Osakidetza to hold union elections in November following agreement between unions and management

The last elections were in 2014. The agreement was reached by both parties during an extraordinary sectoral roundtable convened today.

Osakidetza and trade unions have agreed to hold union elections on November 28 after ten years without electionsThe election campaign will take place between October 19 and November 25, according to the Basque Government’s Ministry of Health.

The Osakidetza General Directorate and the unions represented in the Basque Health Service held a meeting on Friday Extraordinary sector table to reach agreement on the conditions under which the next trade union elections will take place.

The meeting took place at the headquarters of the Directorate General of Osakidetza in Vitoria-Gasteiz. One of the agreements reached is that of the calendar that is established as voting date November 28, 2024In this way, the election campaign will be held on October 19 and November 25, and the last day to request a vote by mail will be November 22.

During today’s meeting, agreement was also reached on other aspects related to the holding of these elections, such as the electoral areas per area, the voting hours, the characteristics of the ballot papers or the rights and authorisations of the participants.

The Ministry of Health has stressed that the agreement is “of particular importance” given that there have not been union elections in Osakidetza for ten years, more specifically since 2013 within the Autonomous Community and, since 2014, in Gipuzkoa.
