Missing in the lake – 18-year-old missed search for him

Date:

At the exact same spot where a 73-year-old swimmer had floated dead in the water the day before, rescuers had to fear the next tragedy at the Attersee. On Saturday night, an 18-year-old disappeared after trying to cool off in the lake. But this time it turned out well.

“Where is he?” – during a party in Schörfling am Attersee, a group of teenagers took a detour to the lake. An 18-year-old jumped “into the water”. After he didn’t return, the friends became worried and raised the alarm.

The fire brigade of Schörfling, water rescuers from Nußdorf, Unterach, Weyregg and Litzlberg and the police arrived around 03:30. And searched for the missing person in the marina of Schörfling. Exactly where a family had discovered the body of a drowned 73-year-old Regauer during a boat trip the day before.

Gate illuminated
Under the jetties, between boats – the helpers lit up the marina and searched every conceivable corner. But the missing person was nowhere to be seen and one had to expect the worst.

But then, shortly before 4:30 a.m., the all-clear sounded. The boy was found, healthy—and now happy again. He had gone ashore somewhere else on the shore and was resting. In other words, he was literally asleep during the search for him.

No consequences
There will be no consequences or costs for him from the emergency services, everyone was just happy that the search was successful. It is not known what the reaction was of the parents who were allowed to receive him at home – since the boy was of age, he was left alone at home.
