A woman from the Mühlviertel became the savior for her own brother after he lay helpless injured in the woods for about six hours after an accident.
Hellmonsödter, 39, worked alone in the woods near his sister’s house in the woods. He was pruning the first tree when two of its branches broke on their own and the tree began to roll. The ranger was run over by the tree at the height of his legs.

He was so trapped or injured that he could not get up on his own. It wasn’t until six hours later, around 8 p.m., that his sister heard screams from the wooded area. The 46-year-old found her brother lying on the ground and alerted the rescue team.
Rescue, emergency doctor and the Kirchschlag volunteer fire brigade were on site. After emergency medical treatment, the Mühlviertler was taken to hospital with injuries to both legs.
