Scenes like those in an action movie probably played out in Vienna-Favoriten in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Two men – 32 and 44 years old – probably got into an argument, which led to an attack with swords. The older man was taken to hospital with injuries to his upper body.
The sword attack took place around four in the morning in an apartment. The 32-year-old Czech allegedly attacked the older man with his weapons. The 44-year-old eventually managed to escape and immediately alerted the police.

The victim was immediately treated on site by the professional rescue team from Vienna and taken to hospital with injuries to the upper body. According to the Vienna police, the man’s life is not in danger.
The Czech could be captured and arrested by the officers while he was still in the apartment – the swords were confiscated. “The background, the course of the crime and the relationship between the two men are the subject of ongoing investigation,” says police spokeswoman Barbara Gass. The victim and the suspect have not yet been heard.
