Arrests in Bgld – 1384 migrants in one week: new record

Date:

The number of refugees reached a new record in Burgenland. In just a week, the army and police have rounded up nearly 1,400 migrants at the state border with Hungary.

The influx of refugees does not stop. Two months ago there were still 400 migrants registered in Burgenland, but that number has now more than tripled.

High Attack Count
Exactly 1,384 Afghans, Pakistanis, Syrians and immigrants from other countries were detained in the past 23 calendar week, mainly in the Oberpullendorf and Neusiedl districts.

Nearly 1,000 migrants were reported in the 20th and 22nd week, up from 1,273 in the 21st. In the fight against human trafficking, the police repeatedly achieved new successes, most recently over the weekend.

Serb arrested
The handcuffs clicked for a Serb (26) who had sent seven refugees across the border on foot while waiting for them by car in Nikitsch.

Just a few hours later, a Ukrainian (26) traveling with 16 migrants went online with management. A French driver (45), who wanted to enter Nickelsdorf with four refugees on the B10, ran off with an advertisement.
