In a near-collision between a bus and a car in Tyrol on Saturday, two passengers were killed. One of them, an 84-year-old man, was injured. The driver drove away. He did not want to have noticed the incident.
The bus was driving on the Stubaital-Bundesstraße (B183) towards Mieders (Innsbruck-Land district) at around 11:30. At the same time, the 31-year-old left the Brenner motorway and turned onto the B183, without paying attention to the bus’ right of way, according to the police.
To avoid a collision with the car, the bus conductor (24) had to apply emergency braking. “Two passengers on the bus fell,” the police said. An 84-year-old passenger was seriously injured in the fall. The 31-year-old driver drove away without stopping and was arrested by the police in Steinach am Brenner. “He stated that he had not noticed the accident,” the director said.
