With a twenty-centimetre knife, a robber threatened an 83-year-old woman on her way to church in Mattighofen on Sunday morning and demanded her handbag. When the woman refused and a neighbour intervened, the perpetrator fled on an e-scooter.
An attempted serious robbery took place in Mattighofen on Sunday around 9:15 am. An unknown person observed the 83-year-old victim on the town square of Mattighofen while he was walking from the church towards Rosengasse. The unknown man chased the victim with an e-scooter and stopped her at the address Rosengasse 2. He then repeatedly demanded that she hand over her handbag.
20 centimeter long knife hidden in his jacket pocket
When the victim realized this, he pulled a knife of about 20 centimeters long from his jacket pocket and threatened the pensioner with it. A previously unknown resident of the surrounding houses noticed the incident and shouted at the perpetrator, so that he stopped his plan and fled on the e-scooter towards the village square. The victim was not injured in the incident.
The report was not made until two hours later
Because the report was filed two hours too late, a search failed. The Mattighofen police station asks witnesses – especially unknown residents – to contact them personally or by calling 059133 4207.
