A police helicopter had to be deployed on Saturday to a couple who were hiking in the Tyrolean district of Kitzbühel. Shortly before the summit, the woman (35) had a panic attack. A rescue with the rope was necessary.
The incident happened around 5:00 p.m. A German (47) from Munich was hiking with his 35-year-old Polish wife along the Nurracher Höhenweg from St. Ulrich am Pillersee in the Loferer Steinberge. The incident then took place on the southeastern ridge – just before the summit of the eastern Rothorn.
Flew unharmed into the valley
According to police, the woman “had a panic attack and could not move forward or backward.” Her husband then called 911. Both were rescued unharmed by the police helicopter with the rope and flown into the valley.
