The emergency services and the extinguishing water had to be flown to the scene of the fire by helicopter.
At around 5:30 p.m., a small fire broke out in Obertilliach at an altitude of about 1,900 meters above sea level as a result of a lightning strike, the director reported on Monday morning.
“To prevent the fire from spreading further, firefighters and extinguishing water were flown in the police helicopter to the source of the fire,” the researchers continued.
Emergency services prevented something worse from happening
The emergency services fought the fire. Successfully! “The extinguishing operation was finally completed successfully around 20:30,” the report said.
A total of 50 members of the Obertilliach, Nikolsdorf, Prägraten and Assling fire brigades, the Obertilliach mountain rescue service and the police helicopter were present.
