Readers of “Krone” demand: – “Climate stickers should lose their driving license!”

Date:

They remain on the streets and disrupt air traffic – how to deal with climate glues? Readers of “Krone” have a few ideas.

A few climate glues are holding the working population hostage. They disrupt car traffic to work, they walk noisily through the neighborhoods of Vienna at half past three in the morning to whistle working people out of bed, and they ruin their vacation by paralyzing air traffic.

Lifetime flight ban for all climate glues, wrote the ‘Krone’ in a response. And many Viennese see it the same way. Like this reader on krone.at: “Unfortunately, there will be no such no-fly list. The climate stickers are still being removed from the airports with child gloves, are given ridiculous fines and are allowed to continue to terrorize people. They still don’t understand that the majority of passengers cannot afford to travel once a year, or not at all. What is needed: higher fines.

For others, a flight ban would not be enough. “You are not allowed to have a driver’s license and are not allowed to board ships,” writes one user. And many agree with him: revoke the driver’s license anyway for those who are at war with cars.

But there are critical voices about all these demands. Like that of Dr. Wolfgang K: “To the last generation: you are certainly not the last, I admire your courage to take measures to save my children and especially grandchildren!” Anyone who wants to enjoy a honeymoon should do so in Austria, as he writes. Videoconferencing would replace symposia abroad. And further: “There is the train as an alternative, comfortable travel.”

New Tactics
Meanwhile, climate activists have struck again, this time in Upper Austria – with a new tactic that could soon set a precedent in Vienna: They blocked Waldeggstrasse in Linz by erecting a wooden scaffolding in the middle of the road, onto which someone climbed.

Several activists also chained themselves to the ground. It is becoming increasingly difficult for the protesters to get off the streets.

And who was supposed to suffer from it again? The working people on their way to work.
