German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock (Greens) visited the Lentes prosthetics workshop in Leverkusen. Then she surprised everyone with unexpected skills in the air: the politician jumped on the trampoline (see video above).
And it was anything but bad: the minister did somersaults back and forth on her socks. World record holder long jump Markus Rehm (35) went first, Baerbock (43) followed. What many people don’t know: in 1999 the foreign minister won bronze at the German championships in the double mini-tramp discipline. There is still a mini-trampoline in her office that she uses occasionally.
Jogging regularly
In general, Baerbock is still sporty. Since she goes jogging regularly, she had leggings with her when she was in Leverkusen (North Rhine-Westphalia) for work. As “Bild” reported, the 43-year-old received a T-shirt and a few tips from professional Rehm during her stay.
Various company visits
Baerbock had visited the company’s prosthetics workshop and training hall. She exchanged ideas with orthopedic technicians, some of whom are also active in the Paralympic Games. The minister then visited the flight readiness of the Bundeswehr and the European Astronaut Center of the ESA. She is expected back in Berlin on Wednesday evening.
