The Cobra was in action in the center of Dornbirn on Wednesday evening. A passerby saw an armed person in a shopping center shortly after 7:00 p.m.
She saw a person with a suspicious object, probably a weapon. The emergency services then surrounded the city market and searched the building. At that time, there were only a few visitors in the shopping center and most of the stores were about to close. The police searched the building and brought the people present outside.
After an hour everything is clear
However, during their operation they did not encounter any armed person. They also did not perceive any danger. Shortly before 20:00 the operation was cancelled and the ‘all clear’ was given. People were able to enter the building again.
Viewing the surveillance cameras yielded no further information. The passerby probably misinterpreted a test fire alarm. There were 28 police officers and another six from Cobra on the scene.
