A terrible accident took place in the German community of Wolfegg (Baden-Württemberg), not far from the border with Vorarlberg. While loading his truck, the 55-year-old was buried under a load of wood chips. The police are now investigating how this could have happened.
Shortly after 11 a.m., the man entered the site of the Tyrolean family business Binderholz, which has its head office in the Zillertal municipality of Fügen, in the Grimmenstein industrial area, to load wood chips.
According to the initial findings of investigators from the Kißlegg traffic police, the 55-year-old was in the loading area removing the tarpaulin when a 63-year-old wheel loader driver delivered the first wood chips.
The truck driver was buried in the wood chips and killed. How and why this accident occurred is currently being investigated by the responsible authorities.
