In a rafting accident on the Lech, a seven-year-old boy from Germany was pushed under a boat for several minutes in the water on Friday. He could be resuscitated.
On Friday at around 2:30 p.m., six guests and a guide started a rafting trip on the Lech in Bach.
Boat capsized, boy under water
While passing the Sint-Niklaas bridge the boat got stuck on a bridge pillar and capsized. Five guests and the guide were able to save themselves to the shore.
However, a seven-year-old boy from Germany remained under the boat for several minutes until the guide could rescue him and bring him to shore. After successful resuscitation, the child was flown by rescue helicopter to the clinic in Innsbruck.
A rescue helicopter, the rescue service, the Elbigenalp fire brigade, a crisis intervention team and the police took action.
