This spectacle is breathtaking: on Sunday, a car fell from a mountain in an accident. Only a few meters later, the vehicle got stuck to a tree that did not look particularly stable. The driver can no longer remember the spectacular accident.
Shortly after 7am on Sunday morning, a hiker became aware of calls for help from the forest. It turned out that a driver (21) had driven his car off the road in the Wildental area near Lofer the night before. The car then overturned and fell down a slope.
Tree as a savior in need
Just a few feet away, a tree may have prevented something worse. He stopped the car. It was left hanging upside down from the tree.
Miraculously, the driver managed to get out of the car on his own the night before the fire brigade arrived. However, the young German has no memory of the accident.
He was then flown to the hospital in Zell am See. An alcohol test the morning after the accident showed 0.8 per mille.
The accident site was secured and the vehicle was recovered with the help of the heavy rescue vehicle. The FF St. Martin near Lofer and the Saalfelden fire brigade recovered the wreck.
