Two friends from the Wolfsberg district (Carinthia) went for a walk in the Koralm area on Saturday during lunch. Suddenly one of the two fell over.
The 65-year-old hiker was on the Koralm around 2:30 p.m. “The man suffered a cardiac arrest in the Burgstallofenbahn area,” the police reported. “His companion, a 57-year-old from Wolfsberg, immediately began resuscitation and started the rescue chain.”
The ÖAMTC rescue helicopter Christophorus 11 flew to the scene of the accident – the crew started emergency medical care. But unfortunately the rescuers could do nothing. “Despite the measures taken, the man died on the spot,” the police said.
