Three night walkers in Kauns in the Landeck district made a terrible discovery: they found a crashed car with an unconscious driver. The background is still unclear.
The incident happened around 2:40 a.m. on Saturday, but only became public on Sunday: three young people walking on the panoramic path in Kauns saw a car that had apparently crashed into a grove of trees below the path in a steep meadow.
Steering wheel not responding
They approached the vehicle and found a 20-year-old driver unconscious in the driver’s seat. He was seriously injured in the crash and was rescued from the vehicle and initially taken to Zams Hospital by the rescue team.
The breath test was positive
On Sunday, the seriously injured man was taken to the clinic in Innsbruck. The accident vehicle was secured against an accident by the Kauns fire brigade and recovered or towed away during the day. An alcohol test on the 20-year-old was positive. The exact course of the accident is still being investigated.
