On the busy Eiberg national road near Kufstein in Tyrol, several vehicles were involved in an accident on Monday afternoon. Three people were injured and a dog died.
Shortly before 2:00 p.m., a German (58) was driving his car on the Eiberg (B 173) federal road towards Söll. His wife (51) was in the car and his three dogs were in the trunk. In a bend, the driver skidded on the wet road, crossed into the oncoming traffic and collided with an oncoming car.
The driver could no longer avoid it
The second car also contained a German woman (54) and her daughter (33). A 39-year-old local man was driving behind their vehicle. He tried in vain to avoid the cars involved in the accident, but his car collided with the back of one of the cars.
The 54-year-old and her daughter suffered significant injuries in the collision, and the 39-year-old went into shock. All three were taken to Kufstein Hospital.
Two dogs have run away
While the German couple was unharmed, one of their dogs suffered fatal injuries in the collision. The other two dogs ran away because the tailgate opened due to the impact. The animals were recaptured a short time later.
During the clean-up, the Eiberg national road was difficult to pass for about two hours. Significant damage was caused to the vehicles.
