An 83-year-old is in life-threatening condition after a serious traffic accident in the municipality of Eibiswald. The driver crashed into a tree and was not wearing a seat belt.
The accident happened around noon on Wednesday in Soboth in the Eibiswald municipality. An 83-year-old driver was driving on a private road towards the B69 when he collided head-on with a tree.
The fire service and rescue team pulled the man from the wreckage and found that he was not wearing a seat belt when he crashed. As a result, he suffered life-threatening injuries.
Car was not allowed
The rescue helicopter Christophorus 12 flew the seriously injured to the LKH Graz. As police later found out, the car was not registered for traffic – so there was no sticker on it. It is not yet clear why the 83-year-old ran off the road and crashed into the tree.
