A 60-year-old Austrian woman suffered life-threatening injuries in Innsbruck on Wednesday afternoon. She was hit by a bus at an intersection and taken to hospital. Two other people were slightly injured.
The tragedy happened around 4:40 PM at the Sillgasse-Museumstrasse intersection. A bus should have pulled into the intersection and captured the woman. According to witness statements, the 60-year-old crossed the street after turning the pedestrian traffic light to green. She was left on the street with life-threatening injuries and was taken by ambulance to the Innsbruck clinic, police said. She contracted a life-threatening infection.
More injured, police are looking for witnesses
The braking maneuver of the bus also injured two people who were on the bus. Witnesses to the accident are requested to report to the Innsbruck Traffic Inspectorate (tel. 059133/7591).
