In Italy, a man who claims to have murdered four elderly people has turned himself in. “I need someone to stop me. If I kept working, I would probably do it again,” the 48-year-old said, according to media reports.
“I wanted to put them out of their misery,” he continued, referring to his victims. According to the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, the four elderly people the man cared for all had cancer. It is said that he had increased the various medications they were taking, including painkillers.
On Thursday, he finally appeared at a station in Caserta in southern Italy and admitted to the crime. Two of his victims have since been identified: a 95-year-old man who died in March this year and an 88-year-old man who died in December 2023. Their deaths were not considered suspicious due to their state of health.
The other two deaths date from 2014 and occurred in the city of Latina.
