In 2023, there were 450 accidents on the way to class or home from school. A study in which ÖAMTC equipped children, cars, trucks and cyclists with special hi-tech glasses wanted to investigate where children look in traffic and how visible they are. The result is shocking!
When children are in traffic, anything can happen. Our little ones often don’t even know the traffic rules; they often walk carelessly between parked cars or are distracted by colorful signs and posters, dogs or other people. Drivers of trucks, cars, motorcycles and even bicycles often complain that they simply overlook children because of their size.
