On Tuesday morning, two men received an electric shock while working on the overhead line of a railway line in St. Peter an der Au in the Amstetten district (Lower Austria). One of the two had to be flown to hospital by emergency helicopter.
The 34-year-old worker from Waidhofen an der Ybbs is said to have touched an overhead line that was out of order and received an electric shock, the state police headquarters reported in a broadcast. He must have forgotten to ground one of the overhead lines that was being worked on. His colleague (24) immediately rushed to help, but he too is said to have received an electric shock.
Helicopter in use
The 34-year-old was flown to the Waidhofen an der Ybbs state hospital with injuries of unknown nature. The 24-year-old was also slightly injured in the industrial accident. A rescue team also took him to a hospital. The responsible labor inspectorate was informed of the incident.
