Execution threatened – man tried to frame his wife for a crime

Date:

A 37-year-old woman had been in a divorce war for two years and seemed relatively hopeless for the man. But then he had the “perfect plan”…

A real divorce thriller is currently on everyone’s lips in Singapore. Because he felt she had not contributed enough to support the couple, the man was furious with his estranged wife. After extensive consultation with lawyers, he hired a private detective to look for evidence of adultery. When nothing came of this, he came up with the idea that giving his wife a criminal record could speed up the divorce process. According to the court, he praised the new project to his new girlfriend as a “perfect plan.”

He bought drugs on the black market and weighed them at home: the cannabis weighed 510 grams – in Singapore, possession of more than 500 grams of cannabis is punishable by death. The court explained that the man knew this precisely through “research on the internet”. Because he was “very angry” with his wife, he went ahead with the treacherous plan anyway – and put the drugs in his wife’s car.

The action failed
His wife was arrested after the drugs were found in her car, but police could find no further incriminating evidence against her. Investigators eventually tracked down and arrested her husband. He was sentenced Thursday to three years and 10 months in prison, court records show.

Singapore is one of the countries with the strictest drug laws in the world. The UN and human rights groups call for the abolition of the death penalty, saying it has no deterrent effect. Singapore, on the other hand, claims that the death penalty has helped make the country one of the safest states in Asia.
