At that late hour, alcohol probably also played a role in the fact that the Slovenian youth was rather clumsy when it came to pickpockets. “He stole the handbag on September 1 at around 01:40. While he fled, the 17-year-old was arrested after a short chase by his 53-year-old partner and another witness,” the police report.
Injured during arrest
The boy refused to return his stolen goods and when officers arrived, he fled again, again unsuccessfully. “He was re-apprehended and arrested shortly thereafter, and the 17-year-old and a police officer sustained unspecified injuries during the official act,” police said.
There is now a suspicion that the thief, who tested positive for alcohol, may have committed at least one other pickpocketing with two accomplices. Police are investigating further.
