– Rise of the far right in Germany: The conservative Christian Democratic Union (CDU) party emerged victorious in the regional elections in the state of Saxony with 31.5% support, slightly ahead of the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD, 30%), while the far-right party received the most votes in Thuringia (30.5%), with the CDU in second place (24.5%, according to an exit poll).
– Meeting round with social agents: The Vice-President and Minister of Economy, Labor and Employment, Mikel Torres, will begin this Monday a round of meetings with Basque social actors, meetings in which he intends to discuss the main challenges of the new legislature, as well as the priorities of his government department to the 2025 budgets.
– PSOE Board Meeting: The PSOE leadership will meet on Monday to convene the federal commission on September 7, with the aim of concluding the election of the territorial leadership before next summer. Pedro Sánchez will convene the PSOE Federal Congress in November to activate the renewal of the party.
