Tragedy in South Tyrol – Tyrolean thrown 200 meters over the highway – dead

Terrible accident late Monday evening on the Italian Brenner motorway A22 in South Tyrol: A North Tyrolean from the Innsbruck-Land district was hit by a car while getting out of an emergency parking space and thrown 200 meters across the road. He suffered fatal injuries.

The terrible accident happened around 9:30 p.m. on the northern carriageway of the A22, just before the Neumarkt exit, according to various Italian media. The man was apparently traveling with his partner. For reasons still unknown, the driver stopped his car with the license plate Innsbruck Land in an emergency parking lot.

Hit by a car at full force
When he got out, the driver was hit by another vehicle and thrown about 200 meters across the road. All help came too late for the man. He was fatally injured in the accident.

Police are investigating the death drama
During the operation and clean-up work, the Brenner motorway A22 was closed for a long time in the north. Further details about the identity of the victim are not yet known. Why the driver got out at the emergency parking lot is still under investigation.
